Twins of the Sea
by Anya Driscoll on 26 October 2009
Oysters are an aquired taste. Some people like pouring living, wriggling blobs of aquatic snot down their throats…other people are me! Then again, I actively seek out and consume microwaveable frozen fish pies that proudly proclaim on the box that they contain ‘12% of your RDA of Omega 3!’ so I can hardly claim to be an expert of matters of food from the sea, so it was left to Harper to twin these two venues. Bentley’s in London is a beautiful Victorian restaurant with a long history (and a chef I recognise from Saturday Kitchen!) whilst the Oyster Bar in New York is also a stunning old world restaurant. Well, you couldn’t slurp those molluscs down under strip lighting whilst sat at formica tables, now could you?
