On a cold winter day..
A brisk walk through Regent’s Park up Primrose Hill followed by a Sunday lunch at either The Engineer or The Albert
Best London/New York date spot…
London: Andrew Edmunds
New York: Campbell Apartments followed by Hundred Acres
If I only had a day and a night I would…
London: I would start with breakfast at the Breakfast Club, followed by walking through SOHO to Trafalgar Square, a brief visit to the National Portrait Gallery then cross the Hungerford Bridge and walk along the South Bank to Tate Modern (try to talk your way into the member’s room). Then cross the Millenium Bridge say hi to St Pauls and take the tube to Bank and stop at Vertigo 42 for a glass of bubbly with a view of the city. Dinner could be at the Wolseley, the Eagle or any little gastropub for a taste of Britain.
New York: Start in Union Square with breakfast at Eisenbergs (the last counter diner in NYC) or Coffee Shop. Walk from Union Square down Broadway to the Lower East Side to the South Street Seaport, looking at all of the old neighborhoods and shops on the way. Also make sure to eat at least one bagel and one slice of pizza. Then over and up to the Highline for another little walk and a quick cab up to MoMA. Dinner or drinks would be at Robert the new restaurant at the Museum of Arts and Design, a magnificent view of Central Park and Columbus Circle.
